T-Shirt Theatre’s Spring Show “Gathering” Honor Community Storytelling from Kahalu`u, Waianae, and Kalihi, Oahu

WHAT:          T-Shirt Theatre (TST) is pleased to present its annual Spring Show, called                                             “Gathering.” Gathering is the result of a winter outreach tour that took the TST high school cast from their homebase at Farringtong High School in Kalihi to other community groups across Oahu to perform a play about the villages that help each young person grow, learn, and prosper.  Talk story sessions were organized after every performance to integrate elders and youth together in conversations that revolved around family, `aina, culture, and the hopes and challenges faced by each of the communities visited.

Gathering takes its inspiration from stories from community storytelling collected from participants at The Key Project in Kahalu`u, YWCA Work Furlough women’s program, `Ohana Kako`o Resource Center in Waianae, and Hale Nani Senior Center in Honolulu.
